A New LGBTQ+ Wedding Planner in Orange County, California

Hello! Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Frank, and I am the founder and lead planner at Events by Frank. You may be wondering why I started a new wedding planning business when there are already so many wonderful and talented wedding planners in the Southern California area. It all started when I got engaged in 2020. Like any newly engaged couple, they turn to social media to look for vendors and inspiration for the wedding day so they may begin the wedding planning process. And that is precisely what I did. I turned to my favorite social media platform, Instagram, and started with a simple search using the hashtags #SoCalWedding and #SoCalGayWedding. I scrolled and scrolled and quickly realized I was not seeing couples that looked like my fiancé and me. It was easier to find LGBTQ+ representation from Los Angeles, Palm Springs, and San Diego based vendors. It was almost as though I saw the representation circle Orange County. Fast-forward to 2021, I created @lgbtqweddingoc on Instagram as a free resource for LGBTQ+ couples getting married in Orange County and Temecula.

The creation of that Instagram account is credited to a homework assignment for grad school at Chapman University. Creating this source led me to join the National Gay Wedding Association, where I served as a board member for about ten months. With this non-profit, I was able to help produce the very first Inclusive Awareness Conference for wedding professionals wanting to learn more about what it means to be inclusive in all aspects of their businesses. Working with these very talented individuals motivated me to officially get into this creative and wonderful industry.

My goal with Events by Frank is to serve couples in the Orange County area who may not see themselves represented in standard wedding magazines, websites, or social media accounts. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I want other LGBTQ+ couples to feel safe and celebrated because they deserve it. We hope you will follow along and reach out with any of your event needs.
